Tiny Freya @ 10 Minutes South

Set in a secluded field just 10 minutes from the southern shores of Lake Burley Griffin, Tiny Freya is a delight for those seeking a respite from their busy everyday lives. It’s an off-grid eco experience with all the creature comforts you need to relax whilst surrounded by nature, and the perfect spot to base yourself while you explore the Bush Capital.

Tiny Freya is cute and cosy, but surprisingly spacious. There are two lofts — one with a QS bed, the other with a single. The bathroom has a composting toilet that flushes, a shower and vanity. The kitchen has an oven, gas hot plates, microwave, fridge with freezer, toaster and coffee maker. There is gas heating, a ceiling fan, and reverse cycle air conditioning.

You’ll have Tiny Freya and her surrounds all to yourself— as well as the nearby paddocks and nature reserve. Kangaroos, parrots, echidnas, rabbits and wedge-tailed eagles are your neighbours here. Enjoy a coffee on the deck in the morning, and laze away the day while taking in the view of surrounding hills. In winter, curl up with a cup of tea and a good book on the banquette inside, and roast marshmallows at the fire pit under the stars.

While Tiny Freya is secluded, all of Canberra’s main attractions are easily accessible within a 15-20 minute drive. The restaurants and cafes of Manuka and Kingston can be reached in 10-15 minutes, and supermarkets at Jerrabomberra or Chisholm are just 5 minutes’ drive away.
